  • Becky Coons earned a Bachelor's degree in Theater Arts/Journalism from Coe College, in Cedar Rapids iowa where she was a second generation student. She was a member of the Actors Equity for a number of years, working in local television programs and commercials.
  • Becky worked as the editor of the Iowa News Radio Network and as anchor reporter of KIOA-KMGK radio after coming to Des Moines.
  • Becky has four children and has been married to her husband, Ray for almost 20 years. Together they own and operate Iowa Geothermal Services in Grimes.
  • Becky has served as President of Grimes Chamber of Commerce and as member and President of the Governing Board of the Metro West Learning Academy.
  • Hobbies include photography, travel, and her many pets.
